Mandatory
Knife 2.5" (Folding Blade) (One per person)
Whistle (One per person)
Medical Kit (One per team)
Kit should contain Band-aids, gauze, adhesive/duct tape, alcohol swabs, iodine tablets, analgesic, etc.

Compass (One per team) GPS is not allowed.
Map Case (One per team)
Writing Utensil (One per team)
Hydration System (One per person)
Water Purification Method - (One per team)
Headlight - no key chain lights allowed. (One per person)
Space Blanket (One per person)

Mountain Bike (One per person)
Bike Helmet - ANSI Approved (One per person)
Spare Tubes for bike (One per team)
Patch kit for tubes (One per team)
Bike pump (One per team)
Bike Repair Tool (One per team)

One Canoe for 3 people
PFD - per person
Single or double bladed paddles (One per person)
Dry Bag (Sufficient for keeping "Dry Items" dry - per team)
Limited Canoe Rental available from Fall Creek Falls - $10 includes canoe (no PFD or paddle!)
you will have to contact FCF directly - Jim.Hall@state.tn.us Boats will only be available during the race.

I have 3 teams registered for a boat with FCF thus far.

1 locking carabineer
6ft length of 5-7mm Spectra Cord tied in a prussic
(Practice using a prussic as a safety back-up for getting any items (hair/shirt) unstuck from belay device.)

Addition:  One shovel or man powered digging device.  This will be used during the race for a service project.  You will not be obligated to carry it the entire race.

Ticks are everywhere.  If you are allergic to bee , hornet, or wasp stings you will need to bring medicine to prevent series situation.
